CreateXMLLibObj changes

In the next development release of scenProc there is a change to the CreateXMLLibObj step, it has some extra attributes. This means that you will have to update your scripts to work in the latest version.

Before the step had the following attributes:

  1. filter
  2. guid
  3. heading attribute
  4. heading offset
  5. altitude
  6. optional options

In the new build the attributes are as follows:

  1. filter
  2. guid
  3. heading attribute
  4. heading offset
  5. altitude
  6. scale
  7. optional options
  8. optional guid attribute

The new attributes allow you to specify the scale of the object (either a value or an attribute name containing the scale value). The new optional attribute for the guid allows you to read the GUID from a feature attribute, instead of the value used in the guid attribute.

  1. Hello Arno and team: For years I have been following the work of you. Today I no longer use FSX and yes XPLANE. Modelconvertx is missing a single detail so that it is the largest application for scenario development for Flight Simulators on all platforms. Convert several textures in a single PNG or DDS texture to XPLANE. Today the application already exports to XPLANE.OBJ … but in the conversion does not create unique texture to be used in the xplane. Just create in the materialEditor the option CREATE UNIQUE TEXTURE ..and it will be perfect

      Hi,

      The material editor does have a drawcall minimizer that can be used to combine different textures on one sheet. Depending on how the textures are used this allows to combine them all in one sheet. Sometimes when textures are repeating a lot this is not possible however.

      In that case MCX will just export a separate model for each texture. If you place them all at the same location it still works in X-Plane.
